 The Meaning Behind Swaaha

The name Swaaha is deeply rooted in the ancient Hindu chant “Svaha,” used during sacred fire ceremonies. This powerful word holds multiple meanings, each symbolizing an essential element of the wedding journey.

Auspicious Ending

In its essence, "Svaha" represents an auspicious ending, marking the conclusion of rituals with hope, positivity, and blessings for the future. Just as the sacred fire ceremony closes with Svaha, we aim to conclude your wedding planning journey with joy and fulfillment.

Acceptance

Derived from the Sanskrit words "swah" and "aha," "Svaha" symbolizes acceptance. "Swah" signifies the heavens, and "aha" means to receive—together they represent a sacred connection between earth and the divine. At Swaaha Weddings & Experiences, we embrace this meaning by ensuring that your dreams are accepted, understood, and turned into a reality that aligns with your deepest desires.

Mareesha Parikh

FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Mareesha Parikh began her career in 2001 as a model and was a Miss India Finalist in 2003. She quickly became a sought-after face in Print, TV, and Music videos for leading brands before discovering her true passion: being on stage. As an accomplished anchor and Master of Ceremonies, Mareesha has hosted over 3000 events across 15 years, becoming the go-to MC for top brands and event management companies in India. Her expertise spans dealer meets, press conferences, product launches, MICE, and luxury wedding events.

Theatre has always been an integral part of Mareesha’s life, shaping her creative journey from childhood. With a deep-rooted love for acting and theatre production, she has crafted theatrical and musical productions for social celebrations. 

In 2011, Mareesha co-founded Swaaha Weddings & Experiences , bringing her unmatched creativity, precision, and attention to detail to the wedding industry. Over the past decade, she has personally designed and executed 100+ weddings and social celebrations across India and 15 other countries, making Swaaha one of the leading luxury wedding planning companies in India 

 In 2021, she founded the Nautanki Company , a creative powerhouse specializing in musical and theatrical productions for events. The company has already completed 25+ events, partnering with Wedding Planners and Corporate Event Companies in India and internationally. 

Mareesha’s precision, personalization, and creative flair continue to make her a driving force in the world of luxury weddings and social celebrations. With 22 years of experience, her journey has only just begun

With over two decades of expertise, Hemant Kale is the driving force behind Swaaha Weddings & Experiences, a premier luxury wedding planning company. His strong foundation in hospitality and luxury events equipped him to launch Swaaha in 2011 with Mareesha Parikh. Hemant’s mastery in financial planning and seamless coordination with top-tier destinations ensures his clients experience impeccable, high-quality weddings, perfectly executed within their budgets.

Under Hemant’s guidance, Swaaha has created remarkable weddings in 15+ international destinations and India’s most sought-after venues. His work has earned accolades from platforms like WeddingSutra.com, WOW Awards, and the Great Indian Wedding Awards, solidifying Swaaha’s position as one of the best wedding planning companies in India.

To further the industry, Hemant also founded WedDestinations.com, a platform that connects couples and planners with luxury wedding venues globally. With over 1000 registered hotels, it has become a trusted resource in both B2B and B2C markets.
